The First Lady, Fabiana Rosales, held a meeting on Monday in the Los Salias Municipal Council, Miranda State, to warn about gender violence that Venezuelan women are suffering from the moment they emigrate from the country.
Rosales said many Venezuelan women are victims of sexual abuse, female homicide and human trafficking.
“We are committed to making the problem visible and generating support for the victims,” said the First Lady through her personal Twitter account.
She also clarified that there are no official figures or reports on the multiple cases that are known and thus avoid attention, denunciation and adequate psychological accompaniment for the victims.
“It is through justice and education that we will advance as a society in order to create homes with solid values,” he concluded.
