Nora Bracho, deputy to the National Assembly (NA), addressed the public on Monday, subject to the transparency that we Venezuelans demand from the administration, public officials and political leaders, since false accusations have been made in recent months through the media, portals and social networks. There have been allegations and rumors against political parties and opposition leaders, including the party president Manuel Rosales, deputies Julio Cesar Reyes and Elias Matta, among others, about the management of the Monomeros company, which has been run for several months by people appointed by the National Assembly.
Un Nuevo Tiempo is a political party that has always been characterized by speaking openly and with the truth. This is expected from the politician, that he publicly opens his heart and soul to what he thinks, does and will do, and that he then fulfills his offerings, because he must show congruence with the drama that the nation is experiencing.
We don’t intend to enter a polemic with anyone on the basis of false news. But, if we tell those who manufacture them to disqualify us, that in today’s world, it is naïve to believe that with falsehoods you can move the citizen’s beliefs.
Un Nuevo Tiempo is a political party that, in the face of lies, seeks and calls for truth.
Due to this circumstance, on the basis of the principle of transparency of public service, we ask the board of directors of the Monómeros company to make public if they have granted contracts, to which companies and persons they have assigned contracts directly or in a veiled manner in Venezuela or abroad.
In the same way, we will ask the National Assembly to demand that the company Monomeros select transparent mechanisms to present a balance sheet report on the management of the new board of directors, exhaustive rendering of accounts, with special emphasis on each assigned contract, terminated contracts, steps to lift OFAC sanctions, companies or persons directly or indirectly benefited by the Pequiven subsidiary in Colombia since the beginning of the administration of the new board. As well as, the clear explanation of the audit carried out to the management of the directive that represented the current regime.
In addition, we demanded clear actions to address this approach, with the idea of dismissing comments, accusations born of false rumors and hearsay, against our founding leader Manuel Rosales and other political leaders.
From UNT we have been completely prudent with this situation to avoid controversy and not play the game of the regime that always seeks to divert attention from the economic, social and political tragedy that is shaking the country, however, it is time to clarify this unfortunate situation.
