To celebrate Christmas, the young people of Voluntad Popular visited the facilities of the University Hospital of Maracaibo (HUM) on Monday, December 23rd, to give smiles and toys to the children confined in the aforementioned health facility.
The head of the Social Support Front of Voluntad Popular, Douglas Castro, reported that during the activity they gave more than 120 toys to the children who remain hospitalized in the HUM.
“We came to visit all these children to bring them joy, because despite the difficulties we are experiencing in the country, we want the children to be happy on these significant dates,” he said.
Castro, accompanied by the deputy of the National Assembly, Desiree Barboza, the leaders Ángel Machado, Víctor Barboza, Alejandro Chacín, Andrés Robayo, among others, toured all the floors of the hospital to deliver the toys.
“For some days we were collecting the toys to bring hope, because we know that in Venezuela there are many parents who do not have the means to buy a toy for their children, but here we are extending a helping hand because we want to draw smiles on the face of every Zulian child,” he said.
The youth leader thanked all the young people who joined the campaign “Giving Smiles” and donated toys to make this day a reality.
“Thanks to everyone for collaborating and for allowing us to bring smiles to the little ones. In Voluntad Popular we are committed to social action and on this day we unite to help others, the good Venezuelan always unites in adversity to bring joy and smiles to children,” he said.
