The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, presented this Friday at the 45th session of the Human Rights Council her update of the report on the serious violations that have taken place in Venezuela
During her speech, Bachelet denounced that the forces of the Nicolas Maduro dictatorship murdered more than 2,000 people between January and August of this year.
“I am concerned about the high numbers of deaths of young people in slums as a result of security operations. My office recorded 711 deaths from June to August, reaching more than 2,000 deaths since January 2020,” the high commissioner told the Human Rights Council.
The update of the report comes after a UN International Mission in charge of investigating the situation of human rights in Venezuela will point out in its report the involvement of the dictator Nicolás Maduro and his leadership in crimes against humanity against the Venezuelan people.
