The Brazilian Embassy in Venezuela closed its offices this Thursday. This decision corresponds to the support of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro to his counterpart, Juan Guaidó, and to politically isolate the usurper Nicolás Maduro.
RFI reported that this decision had been taken in February of this year and that, despite the emergency caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the plans of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not change.
The General Consulate in Caracas and the three vice-consulates in Venezuelan territory closed their activities on March 27th.
About 10,000 Brazilians reside in Venezuela. 46 Brazilian diplomatic officials were urged to cease their activities and return to their country.
