CITGO’s Simon Bolivar Foundation continues to support the heroic work of health care workers in Venezuela in the face of COVID-19.
The Foundation was able to make a new delivery of personal protection supplies in the country’s main cities. This new aid included 75,000 surgical gloves, 2,500 masks and 5,100 gowns that will benefit hundreds of doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians and first aid personnel in Caracas, Los Teques, Maracay, Valencia, Maturín, Cumaná and San Cristóbal.
A major achievement of CITGO’s new management has been to expand the mission and role of its charitable arm, the Simon Bolivar Foundation, to increase the impact of its aid to Venezuelans at home and abroad. For that reason, it has provided grants to urgently support and strengthen NGOs working hand in hand with health professionals in Venezuela to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable.
In addition, considering that knowledge and experience on how to treat COVID-19 are essential to combat it and delay its transmission, the Simon Bolivar Foundation of CITGO continues to organize and make available to the public, video conferences with important panels of experts, who have shared strategies to mitigate from the medical, psychological and nutritional point of view the effects of this pandemic in the country.
