The Commissioner of the Organization of American States (OAS) for the crisis of Venezuelan Migrants and Refugees, David Smolansky, lamented that the battles that forged independence have been in vain after Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship took away Venezuelans’ freedom.
“200 years after Carabobo and never before have our heroes rolled so much in their graves as today,” Smolansky said in a message posted on his Twitter account.
The Venezuelan official assured that the deed of the liberators was “betrayed by a drug trafficking elite, subjugated to the foreign interests of Cuba, causing the exile of almost 6 million Venezuelans.”
“Down with tyranny!” He concluded.
