This Monday, the government of Germany demanded an in-depth investigation into the crimes against humanity committed by Nicolás Maduro’s regime, after the European Union sanctioned 19 members of the dictatorship.
The Presidential Deputy Commissioner for Foreign Relations, Isadora Zubillaga, thanked Germany and the Secretary of State of the Federal Foreign Ministry, Miguel Berger, for their support of the Venezuelan people.
Zubillaga extended her recognition of the will of the German government to firmly defend human rights and the rule of law in Venezuela.
“As it was well said, those responsible for breaking the law must answer for their actions. Venezuelans are not alone,” she added.
The Council of the European Union announced on Monday morning new sanctions against officials of Nicolás Maduro’s regime for their direct involvement in acts against democracy, the rule of law and human rights violations.
On the other hand, it included Venezuela on its list of priorities in human rights for this 2021.
