Donna Shalala, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, participated in the event with the President in charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, and the Venezuelan Diaspora at the Miami Airport Convention Center.
“The president in charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, is a true defender of democracy”, after meeting with the president.
“I promise to support the people of Venezuela until they are free, because in the words of the great liberator Simon Bolivar “God gives victory to perseverance,” Shalala said.
The Venezuelan president expressed his gratitude to the U.S. congressman through his official Twitter account.
“We thank Congresswoman Donna Shalala for joining us and supporting our efforts for Venezuela and the region. The Venezuelan struggle has the unity of all the factors of the free world,” Guaidó said.
The Venezuelan head of state was received last Saturday by Florida congressmen, mayors, senators and other political leaders from both the Democratic and Republican parties, who not only showed their support during the meeting with the Venezuelan diaspora in the city of Miami, but also strengthened their commitment to the search for freedom in Venezuela.
