This Tuesday September 21st, began in New York the 76th UN General Assembly with the participation of more than 100 leaders from around the world.
The President of Colombia, Iván Duque, mentioned in his speech the complex humanitarian crisis that Venezuela is suffering, a product of the chaos generated by Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship.
Regarding the negotiation process that is being carried out in Mexico City between the dictatorship and the Unitary Platform, the Colombian president said that “although it gives some hope, let’s not allow us to be naive, since the only effective outcome of that meeting will be the announcement as soon as possible of a free, transparent presidential election with a meticulous international observation.”
On the contrary, President Duque warned that any way out that perpetuates this dictatorial shame and allows the regime to gain time will exacerbate the greatest humanitarian disaster the region has ever known.
“The end of the dictatorship is the only viable path for the well-being of the Venezuelan people, and it must be the purpose of international action,” he declared.
