The European Union will expand the sanctions adopted against Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship, including 30 of its members involved in the electoral fraud of December 6th and in crimes against humanity.
The EU plans to start the expansion of these measures next Monday in the Foreign Affairs Council in order to redouble the pressure on the Venezuelan tyranny.
“The number of people subject to European sanctions would double and would mean the freezing of assets and the prohibition of entry into the EU,” reported a diplomatic source from the European bloc.
Let us remember that the US has established strong sanctions against the dictatorship and with its new administration seeks to establish multilateral relations to help the Legitimate Government to restore democracy in Venezuela.
For this reason, Antony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States, is scheduled to participate in the meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council through a video call.
