U.S. Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Michael Kozak welcomed Slovakia’s recognition of President Juan Guaidó.
“Another freedom-loving country that defends the Venezuelan people,” he said Wednesday through his personal Twitter account.
Kozak also explained that international cooperation can help restore democracy, the economy and the rule of law in Venezuela.
In response to this announcement, the Venezuelan ambassador to Slovakia, William Dávila, said that “every day that passes Europe is more aware of the serious crisis that Venezuela is going through” and that they know that in the country there is a criminal regime that threatens the stability of the region.
This Wednesday, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Ivan Korcok, announced the recognition of his country to the Acting President of Venezuela Juan Guaidó, as the only legitimate authority.
