U.S. Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Michael Kozak, spoke about Venezuelan emigres and refugees on World Refugee Day.
Kozak said millions of Venezuelans have fled to other countries around the world to escape Nicolás Maduro’s tyranny.
The U.S. official called on the international community to strengthen its support and political resolutions on the issue to provide better care for refugees.
“Together, we must restore democracy, economic stability and the rule of law so that Venezuelans can return home,” he said.
