Leopoldo López Gil, MEP for the EPP, denounced that there are more than 5 million Venezuelans displaced by the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela generated by the regime on the occasion of World Refugee Day.
The MEP said that according to the report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on forced displacement, the Venezuelan exodus is the second largest in the world.
“On World Refugee Day I denounce that there are more than five million Venezuelans displaced by the humanitarian crisis generated by Maduro’s regime,” he said.
López Gil has repeatedly called on the international community to devote more efforts to protect individual freedoms in Venezuela and help alleviate the economic crisis the country is suffering.
