The new Board of Directors of Monomeros Colombo Venezolanos S.A. appointed by PEQUIVEN on behalf of the legitimate government of Venezuela, arrived in Monomeros on April 11, 2019 at a very important moment. As a result of the illegitimacy and illegality of the usurper regime, the company had been prevented from carrying out financial operations in the international market and the purchase of raw materials necessary for its normal operation. The production plants were at 50% capacity and with great limitations to interact with all their stakeholders.
Since its designation, Monomeros has made great progress, such as re-enabling its operation in the international market, reestablishing relations with fundamental entities within the financial, industrial and agricultural sector of Colombia. All of which has allowed it to recover its maximum productive capacity and market positioning.
The Board of Directors has undertaken a process of strengthening the organization, aligning responsibilities from a strategic approach, optimizing costs and expenses and taking all the actions required to improve the operational, administrative and financial processes in a comprehensive manner, thus enabling support the expectations of more than 1500 workers who work today in the hope of seeing a prosperous Monomeros, at world class levels, managed with transparency and with the best administrative, operational, commercial and governance practices.
The achievements obtained during these five months have strengthened the confidence of Monomeros in all sectors and allowed workers to undertake initiatives of high value for the operation of the business and projection of the business strategy. A sample of this was the timely and successful way in which the entire group of collaborators attended the emergency presented on September 19, 2019 due to an incident at the Sodium Sulfate Plant that had been out of service for 9 years and in the process of being dismantled since October 2018.
The Board of Directors of Monomeros, the Board of Directors of Pequiven, the National Assembly and President Juan Guiadó continue to work hard to achieve the total recovery of the company, advance effectively in all the plans defined for its projection in Colombian agriculture and promote it in a a prosperous and sustainable way, as an example of successful professional and managerial management for all of Latin America.
