On Monday the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, during his speech at the 3rd Hemispheric Ministerial Conference on the Fight against Terrorism, condemned the relationship between Maduro’s regime and terrorist groups.
“The regime of Iran, with its armed wing Hezbollah, is in Venezuela. This is not acceptable,” the U.S. diplomat said.
Furthermore, Pompeo stated that “the protection of this type of criminals in Venezuelan territory cannot be allowed and we work together with the allied countries to fight it”.
“We must continue to fight against terrorism, and I am not only referring to that which detonates bombs, but also to the networks that facilitate it. Maduro’s regime receives members of terrorist groups such as the ELN, FARC and Hezbollah, that’s why we are here supporting Juan Guaidó,” he said.
