The President of the United States, Joe Biden, highlighted the work of President in Charge, Juan Guaidó, in favor of democracy in Venezuela.
Regarding the commemoration of the 210 anniversary of the declaration of independence in Venezuela, Biden sent a letter to Guaidó to express his congratulations.
President Biden praised the work of the interim government of Juan Guaidó, which together with the elected National Assembly and the Venezuelan people pursue “a democratic and peaceful transition in Venezuela.”
The US president stressed that under the leadership of Guaidó and in coalition with the leaders of civil society, “the ideals of freedom, democracy and sovereignty are being preserved.”
He also reiterated his commitment to Venezuelans and the struggle to achieve freedom and democracy in the midst of the serious humanitarian crisis that the nation is going through.
He finally closed the letter by quoting Simón Bolívar: “a people who love freedom will be free in the end.”
