President of the Mercosur Parliament, Tomás Bittar, participated this Friday in the meeting with presidents of the region’s legislative powers to coordinate actions in support of the struggle to restore democracy in Venezuela, the National Assembly and to condemn the electoral farce that Maduro’s regime is trying to impose.
During his speech, he regretted that after being “Venezuela is one of the richest countries in the region, unfortunately today it is in a deplorable situation”.
“There is no medicine, no food, and an exodus of more than five million throughout the region. A catastrophic scenario,” he said.
In this sense, he asserted that “Nicolas Maduro is an usurper and that’s why he must be removed from the scene.”
“From ParlaSur we have a strong and tough position against Maduro and his gang. Five countries have told you ‘no’, you are a narco-dictator. You destroyed Venezuela. You violated the rights of all parliamentarians, the only legitimate body,” he said.
He also urged “the allied countries to take forceful measures against the narco-dictatorship. Venezuela must return to being a democratic and prosperous country,” he said.
“Our heart is with Venezuela. My fight for that country is strong, it has been going on for many years. And I will continue to do so until the dictator leaves,” he ended.
