The Republican Senator from Florida, Rick Scott, sent a letter to the firm Amsterdam & Partners, which was hired by Nicolas Maduro’s dictatorship to defend it from the sanctions imposed by the United States.
Sen. Scott published a letter stating that he would not meet with any of the employees or clients of the firm, as long as they continue to represent Maduro.
“Today I sent a letter to Amsterdam & Partners after they took over a contract to work on behalf of Maduro’s regime in Venezuela,” he reported on his Twitter account.
In the letter, Sen. Scott shows his “displeasure” at learning that the U.S. firm not only does not support the measures taken by the Trump administration, but now represents a person who is being pressured by the U.S. government to leave power.
“As long as there are those who represent a dangerous dictator who is murdering his own people, I will not remain silent. I urge my colleagues to do the same,” he said.
