The NGO ‘Médicos Unidos por Venezuela’ detailed in its most recent report the death of 4 healthcare workers diagnosed with COVID-19, so the number of fatalities in the sector rose to 740.
The report specifies that the deaths were registered in the states of Sucre, Lara, Trujillo and Falcón, for which they made a call to all healthcare workers to enforce strict prevention measures to avoid contagion and the there continue to be more victims.
Likewise, they warned that without vaccination, face-to-face classes should not be started, since children and their families would be exposed.
To date, the state with the highest number of deaths from COVID-19 in the health sector is Zulia with 152, followed by the Capital District with 98, Carabobo with 66, Bolívar with 54 and Aragua with 44.
Venezuela is the country in the region with the lowest rate of vaccinated people, according to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
The organization revealed this week that the country has vaccinated only 10% of the population with the full vaccination scheme (two doses).
