The virtual embassy of the United States in Venezuela on Saturday demanded the immediate release of the Presidential Chief of Staff of the President in Charge of Venezuela, Roberto Marrero, who was kidnapped by Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship.
“Today is the first anniversary of the illegal detention of Roberto Marrero by SEBIN officials. Since then, many have been arrested or killed just for working for justice for Venezuelans. We remember him and we continue to fight for his freedom,” said the U.S. embassy in a message published through its official Twitter account.
It also stated that “the dictatorship acts in darkness, sowing evidence and false charges, intimidating innocent people.”
“The people of Venezuela demand that all political prisoners be released. Today Roberto Marrero turns one year since his kidnapping and the people show their support,” it ended.
