The Brazilian Government remarked this Wednesday that they are not surprised by the revelations of the report of the Fact-Finding Mission on Venezuela before the UN Human Rights Council .
“There has been no cooperation from the regime. The conclusions of the FMM report show the systematic practices of violations in Venezuela that attempt against humanity under the command of Nicolás Maduro and others that deeply concern Brazil,” stated the diplomatic representation at the Geneva meeting.
Similarly, it expressed that it is not surprised of the human rights crimes for which Nicolas Maduro is accused.
“This does not surprise us. What we hear here in the council is an echo of what we hear daily from millions of Venezuelans who were documented by the Independent Commission of Experts of the OAS,” it said.
Brazil made an urgent call to multilateral organizations and democratic governments of the world to begin actions to bring justice to Venezuela. “The ICC should have the need to provide justice, to delay justice is to deny it.”
“We urge everyone in this council and in the United Nations to put victims first, in an equitable manner,” it ended.
