The administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Mark Green, held a meeting with the president in charge of the Republic, Juan Guaidó, in which he reaffirmed his support and commitment to the Venezuelan people.
After the meeting, the U.S. official said he was happy to continue being part of this struggle that could lead to the restoration of democratic order in Venezuela .
“Happy to be able to stand with interim President Juan Guaidó and send a message directly to the people of Venezuela: USAID is committed to working with you as you seek to restore democracy and prosperity,” Green said in a message accompanied by the Venezuelan head of state.
“We are with you,” he added.
For his part, President Juan Guaidó thanked the U.S. government and USAID for their support of NGOs and organized groups in Venezuela to recover and rescue democracy.
“The dictatorship will try to continue lying, but we will remain firm in attending to the complete humanitarian emergency, the refugee crisis in the region and above all in rescuing democracy and freedom in Venezuela,” concluded President (E) Guaidó.
