The virtual embassy of the United States in Venezuela, demanded the immediate release of Juan Jose Marquez, uncle of the president in charge of the Republic, Juan Guaidó, who was kidnapped by the Maduro dictatorship on Tuesday.
“The kidnapping of the interim president’s family only shows that the dictatorship is weak and desperate. We demand that Juan José Márquez be released immediately, safe and sound,” the embassy said on its Twitter account.
Marquez arrived in Venezuela with the president, Guaidó, and was deprived of his liberty by men in the service of the regime. “Democracy cannot be intimidated, this must stop,” said the U.S. Embassy.
