Deputies of the National Assembly (AN) on Tuesday discussed the political crime against the leader Edmundo “Pipo” Rada, who was found dead last Thursday, shot with part of his body burned and signs of torture.
“Pipo” Rada, founder of the political party Voluntad Popular, was being sought by officials of the FAES, executor arm of tortures and murders of the dictatorship hours before disappearing.
Parliamentarians hold Nicolás Maduro’s regime responsible for the death of late Pipo Rada. Therefore they will carry out the following actions:
– They will request the High Commissioner of Human Rights of the UN, Michelle Bachelet, to conduct an investigation in this regard, to clarify the situation and do justice.
– They will request to diverse organisms that a team of experts investigate what happened in the country, so that the ones responsible face justice.
The deputy Adriana Pichardo, during her speech, lamented the death of the ex-councilor of the Sucre municipality, Edmundo “Pipo” Rada, at the same time, recalled that he was a defender of the Venezuelan people, of freedom and democracy.
“Edmundo Rada, Pipo, was the example of grouth, a social leader, a great neighbor, father, brother, son, grandfather, a tireless fighter for the freedom of Venezuela, he showed us the beauty of Petare, the quality of its people”, Said the parliamentarian.
“Together with the Sucre team, he created the flag of the Sucre Municipality, he carried a message of hope, two weeks ago he was with President Guaidó demonstrating that Petare is not afraid, FAES members photographed him.”
“We request a commission of experts from the office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to investigate this crime. Peace to your soul, Pipo, we will continue with your fight, may you fly very high”, said parliamentarian Pichardo.
In this sense, Tadeo Rada, brother of “Pipo” asked the AN that this death do not pass under the table like other cases of murder by Maduro’s regime.
“We ask for justice for our brother, they didn’t shut up a voice but they stoked more voices, Pipo was a social leader who moved the masses, to be a political leader you have to be a social leader”, he said.
Deputy María Hernández Del Castillo said that “Maduro and those who in the chain of command hold him precariously in power not only have their hands loaded with drugs, but also bathed in the blood of Venezuelans.”
“Tyrants believe they succeed when they cause pain, when they kill. Death is an ineffective show of political domination, when tyrants kill they lose because nobody dominates the dead”, she added
