The Presidential Commissioner for Foreign Relations, Julio Borges, denounced that the dictatorship does not count or publish real figures of the victims of Covid-19, he thus reported that there is a sub-registry of cases that shows the serious health crisis in the country.
“They think that this way they also hide the Venezuelans who die every day due to lack of care in hospitals and the poor management in terms of vaccines,” he said through his Twitter account.
Borges reported that the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME, for its acronym in English) of the University of Washington, estimates that in Venezuela there are currently 12 thousand daily infections and recognizes at least 1,000 more deaths than those reported by the dictatorship . “Imperial College London estimates up to 17,000 infections a day,” he said.
The Commissioner stated that there is a sub-registry and demanded that the dictatorship respect the memory of the deceased and publish the real figures.
“Venezuelans deserve to know the truth, enough that Maduro continues to manipulate and use a false health context to strengthen his dictatorship,” he said.
