There is no election in Venezuela. The call for December 6th is an electoral circus. The flag of election is a flag of democracy.
We believe in the vote, but in the free, universal, direct, secret and personal vote as established by the Constitution. For us, the vote is a deposit of trust that we citizens have to choose our destiny. In the Maduro electoral circus you will have the right to vote but you will not have any possibility to choose.
What do we stand to gain by voting? Nothing! If we vote, what’s coming for Venezuela is an absolute de facto state. The regime’s decision to appoint a new NEC to suit it and to disqualify political parties received worldwide repudiation, including from the Council of the Organization of American States, the United Kingdom and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet.
The National Assembly, based on the Constitution, has already defined the conditions that must be met in order to participate in real elections: free elections, fair elections and verifiable elections.
Maduro has declared war on us Venezuelans, therefore all those individuals or political and social factors that in one way or another collaborate or place themselves on the side of the regime’s pretensions to remain in power in order to hinder the political solution to the deep crisis we are suffering, are enemies of society and as such will be considered and confronted.
We emphasize the honor and constancy of our leadership in each of the municipalities, parishes, and sectors, who even in the worst of situations and precariousness have rejected the attempt by the dictatorship and its “scorpions” in Trujillo, who using the symbols that Maduro stole from Copei, Acción Democrática, Primero Justicia and Voluntad Popular try to confuse them. Our leaders are the true monument to citizen values.
We also ratify our support for the recognition of the president in charge, Juan Gerardo Guaidó Márquez, and his contributions to the cause of freedom in the country.
In view of the above, we, the deputies of the Democratic Unity, together with our political parties, articulate from this moment as a political command for Freedom in all the territory of the state of Trujillo, in order to confront the usurping elite that violates the precepts of civilized life on the margins of the national Constitution and popular sovereignty.
Our purpose and commitment is to accompany the sovereign people, and with God’s help, defeat the tyrannical regime, the cause of the social tragedy we suffer. We invite all citizens, men and women of good will to join the unitary effort, so that together we can build this history and thus recover the homeland, the welfare and freedom of all Venezuelans.
