The recently constituted Delegate Commission of the legitimate National Assembly of Venezuela, whose origin is the last democratic elections held in 2015, through its Board of Directors led by the president in charge Juan Guaidó, appreciates the support of Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Paraguay and Peru, member countries of the Lima Group.
The people of Venezuela, oppressed by a cruel and corrupt dictatorship, that has been accused of crimes against humanity, are at a crucial moment in their fight for freedom, in the face of the latest usurpation of the country’s democratic institutions.
The rejection by the Lima Group of the electoral fraud perpetrated by Maduro and the recognition of the continuity of the legitimate National Assembly are a stimulus for all of us who continue to fight for freedom in our country and for the holding of free, fair and verifiable presidential and parliamentary elections.
We ask the international community to join in the defense of our people expressed so clearly by the brother countries of the Lima Group, and to not compromise our freedom with the usurpers.
