The Deputy of the National Assembly (NA), César Cadenas, insisted that Venezuela is going through its worst public service crisis in history and that this makes it more unbearable due to the arrival of the Covid-19 virus in the country.
“This electricity collapse is happening due to lack of investment, lack of maintenance, lack of improvement of the electricity networks, lack of construction of new dams”, explained the MP on Tuesday.
Likewise, Cadenas insisted that the electrical failures affect everything from communications to the supply of water to homes. He also said that this affects even more the Venezuelans who should be quietly quarantining in their homes to avoid being infected by the Coronavirus.
“The quarantine is unbearable and is the sad reality that we Venezuelans are living today,” he added.
According to the Committee of People Affected by Power Outages, 19,000 power failures have been registered between March and April in Venezuela, in which Venezuelans can spend up to 24 hours without electrical power.
