The crisis in public services is getting worse every day and the quarantine due to the Covid-19 pandemic has complicated the lives of Venezuelans. Daily power cuts, water shortages and lack of domestic gas are what abound in the country thanks to the inefficiency of Nicolás Maduro’s regime.
More than 90% of Venezuelan households have irregularities in water supply. Meeting the health recommendations for the prevention of the coronavirus is almost impossible.
In Venezuela, 9 out of 10 people do not enjoy constant water service. Venezuelans face the daily dilemma of either complying with the quarantine or going out to get drinking water, putting their lives and everyone else’s at risk.
The Deputy of the National Assembly (NA), Guillermo Palacios, said that only 8% of the Venezuelan population receives water regularly through pipes. The rest of the country receives water weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
“The communities collect water from streams, wells or rivers, which are not suitable for consumption,” the congressman added this Wednesday.
Palacios said that Nicolas Maduro’s dictatorship subjects the Venezuelan people to this situation due to the corruption and inefficiency that has reigned for more than 20 years in Venezuela.
Likewise, the deputy insisted that this water crisis brought as consequences serious diseases such as malaria and yellow fever.
The deputy insisted that a National Emergency Government must be installed to work together and for the recovery of Venezuela.
