Congressman Carlos Prosperi from Guárico State, informed in a press conference held on Thursday that they will go to the corresponding organizations to denounce the crimes against humanity committed by the usurper government of Nicolás Maduro in the country.
This in reference to the siege that a group of deputies were victims of by the so-called collectives, (armed groups affiliated with the regime) outside the Federal Legislative Palace when they tried to enter the National Parliament with the purpose of holding the ordinary session this Wednesday, as is contemplated in the regulations of the Interior and Debates.
Prosperi narrated the events, indicating that there were detonations and at the same time they could see people with blunt objects, such as sticks and stones, trying to topple the van.
“According to the Rome Statute, crimes against humanity are not subject to any statute of limitations. Civilians have been armed to attack citizens who think differently from these people who are usurping power today”.
At the same time, he welcomed the statement by the Inter-Parliamentary Union condemning these acts against members of the National Assembly. He also said he applauded the decision made by the aforementioned organization, where Juan Guaidó has been ratified as the president in charge of Venezuela with more than 470 votes, giving him support as president of the National Assembly.
The deputy said that next Tuesday President (e) Juan Guaidó called the corresponding session for that day and clarified that there are not two directives. “Here there is a directive that attempts to usurp a power that does not correspond to it and which is not competent because it violated the rules of the interior of the debate,” he warned.
“We are going to insist on continuing to meet in the Federal Legislative Palace, which is where we belong, and if they think that by kidnapping, militarizing and placing paramilitary groups (they are going) to restrict our access to the National Assembly, they are wrong.”
For her part, Rep. Delsa Solórzano said that the groups that acted against the group of deputies on Wednesday did so under the complicity of the uniformed (law enforcement) agents of the State.
“For all the evidence that exists about the events registered on Wednesday, the paramilitary groups are acting at the expense of the government that usurps Nicolás Maduro,” she said.
