The Deputy to the National Assembly for Vargas State, Milagros Eulate, described the current situation in the state after the heavy rains registered over the weekend.
“I am in the Maiquetía Parish, now can you appreciate the Piedra Azul river, it is full of sediments and trees. It is an extremely dangerous river that caused a lot of damage in the tragedy of 99. However, it has not been worked on or cleaned (cleared of sediment and debris) for a long time,” the parliamentarian denounced.
Furthermore, she emphasized that the situation is serious due to the persistent heavy rainfall in the past few days. In addition, she assured that most streams and rivers in Vargas State are in these same conditions.
Finally, Ms. Eulate specified that in the parishes of Maiquetía, Carlos Soublette, Urimare and Catia La Mar, there are streams and rivers even more dangerous, therefore she demanded that the safety of Venezuelans be ensured.
