The Deputy to the National Assembly, Luis Florido, denounced that Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship is planning to continue kidnapping deputies of the assembly, with the aim of preventing their participation in eventual elections.
“I am here in Lara, my state, because we have the objective of transforming this region. But we also aim to achieve the electoral conditions to return to the vote in Venezuela, because we believe that this is the weapon that is most useful for the country at the moment,” said Florido in a message posted on his social network accounts.
The parliamentarian for ‘Un Nuevo Tiempo’ assured that this wave of kidnappings and repression by the regime caused by the fact that they are so weak from the electoral and popular support point of view.
“We do not hide. This is not a challenging issue, but I am not going to run away and I will continue in my work to recover Lara State, because as I have said, I come from here, I am from here,” said Mr. Florido.
Likewise, the parliamentarian affirmed that as soon as the electoral conditions are clear and the Unity decides to defeat the regime electorally, he will place his name at the disposal of the Unity.
“We are not going to do what they want us to do, which is that we demobilize from the electoral issue, which in the end is what they are looking for with the (illegal) arrest of Deputy Freddy Guevara and an eventual persecution against any of us,” he added.
Furthermore, he pointed out that the dictatorship seeks to demotivate the democratic leaders of Venezuela and inspire despair regarding an electoral solution.
“We have said it, we believe in the National Salvation Agreement, because we have always believed in promoting the negotiation formula as the solution for Venezuela,” he concluded.
