The First Vice President of the National Assembly, Juan Pablo Guanipa, denounced that Nicolás Maduro’s regime ordered an attack against the deputies of the National Assembly in Machiques, Zulia State.
Guanipa reported that the National Guard held them at the checkpoint at Km 104 via Perijá without any reason.
“Everything settled at the checkpoint at Km 104 of the Perijá highway, where the GNB held us. After checking identification, suitcases and vehicles, they stated that they would make calls to review our medical records. My answer was: Nicolás Maduro is the one with a file,” said deputy Juan Pablo Guanipa.
Along with deputy Juan Pablo Guanipa were Julio Montoya and Avilio Troconis, who were also attacked by citizens sent by Nicolás Maduro’s regime while they were on the Selecta 102.7 radio station in Zulia State.
“While our team is in the streets doing its work and bringing support and solidarity in these difficult times, the regime only does the only thing it knows how to do: sabotage, intimidate and attack,” he said.
The legislator said that while they were attacked by groups sent by Chavismo, the Zulia people took to the streets to defend the Legitimate National Assembly and to demand the resignation of Maduro’s regime.
“Faced with these senseless attacks, the neighbors, who were listening to the radio program, took to the streets and were the ones who exercised our defense and made it easier for everything to end without consequences. We are grateful,” he said.
