The Deputy of the National Assembly, Freddy Guevara, referred to the position assumed by all the unitary parties, who firmly rejected the arbitrary appointment of a CNE by the regime.
“It is a firm because it makes clear the rejection of a CNE like the one they want to appoint now and sensible because it affirms the need and willingness to reach a political agreement to solve the crisis,” he said through his Twitter account.
The parliamentarian added that although the position set will generate criticism from some democratic minority groups who assure that Maduro’s CNE must be accepted in exchange for a rector and/or we must be closed to any negotiations with the dictatorship, it must be taken into account that regime can be confronted (successfully) if there is a united democratic force.
And today that unitary force leaves a clear message: Agreements? Yes, but in Unity and to solve the crisis, not to keep everything the same in exchange for positions or spaces,” he stated.
Guevara stressed that there is no unanimity among the democratic forces, however he reiterated the importance that as a party or democratic leader, the majority position must be accepted even when it is not our own.
“That is democracy, and only in this way will we achieve freedom,” he remarked.
