The deputy of the National Assembly, Liz Jaramillo, denounced that the education sector in Aragua State survives based on a fortnightly salary of just $ 1.04.
Jaramillo said that this Tuesday that eight products of the basic food basket for an average family of four can be found for $ 15.44 .
The parliamentarian reported that the depreciation of the bolivar and the crisis in Venezuela have had negative repercussions on the nutrition and health of educators and all Venezuelans.
“The loss of muscle mass in the physiognomy of the Venezuelan, of the educators, retirees and personnel is seen more and more in the schools. (They all) have lost approximately 11 kilos.” she said.
The crisis has affected the education sector in the country, which went from being one of the most busy activities in Aragua State to being one of the most forgotten, since the lack of employment and the miserable salary that the sector receives has forced teachers to explore other business areas or to leave the country in search of a better future.
