This Monday the 12th of July, the dictatorship once again attacked the leaders of the democratic alternative. To this end, Deputy Olivia Lozano, president of the Foreign Policy, Sovereignty and Integration Commission of the legitimate National Assembly, called on the International Community to warn about the new onslaught of Nicolás Maduro’s regime and his repressive apparatus against President in Charge, Juan Guaidó, and part of his government team, whom they harassed and intimidated with firearms and explosives with the intention of executing an arbitrary arrest.
Minutes earlier, Deputy Guevara was intercepted and kidnapped in the middle of the public thoroughfare by the repressive bodies of the State at the service of the dictator Nicolás Maduro, violating his parliamentary immunity as a Deputy of the legitimate National Assembly elected in 2015 and his whereabouts are still unknown.
Furthermore, Deputy Lozano affirmed that “these new abuses and acts of intimidation against the leaders of the democratic forces, happen at the precise moment in which there is a technical commission of the European Union in our country to evaluate the existence of electoral conditions to attend the elections scheduled by the regime next November. This shows the little will of Nicolás Maduro’s regime to carry out transparent, fair, free and truly democratic electoral processes as an opportunity to reinstitutionalize the country and restore democracy in a peaceful way.”
The parliamentarian asked the International Community, the member states of the Inter-American System, the Lima Group, the European Union and all the states that make up the free world, to condemn, denounce, deplore and act in a forceful way to reject this new violation of the constitutional order and human rights by Maduro’s oppressive regime.
“I hold Nicolás Maduro responsible for the safety and integrity of Deputy Freddy Guevara and President Guaidó,” she concluded.
