The deputy of the National Assembly, Olivia Lozano thanked US Senator Rick Scott for the proposal to donate surplus vaccines from the United States to Venezuela.
“I am grateful to Senator Rick Scott for his commitment to the Venezuelan democratic struggle and especially for this humanitarian proposal that advocates the vaccination of Venezuelans,” Lozano said in a message posted through her Twitter account.
The legislator recalled that Venezuelans, in addition to facing the pandemic, are victims of Maduro’s dictatorship that uses COVID-19 and its vaccination program as a social control mechanism.
Faced with the advance purchase and agreements regarding COVID-19 vaccines, the United States will have more than 300 million additional doses by the end of July.
That is why Senator Scott proposed to President Joe Biden’s administration that part of these vaccines be transferred to Venezuela.
