The President of the Foreign Policy Commission of the National Assembly, Olivia Lozano, reiterated her call to alert the world about the serious humanitarian situation in Venezuela, the product of an atrocious, corrupt and oppressive regime, that has forced the migration of more than 5 million Venezuelans exposing them to innumerable risks.
On the occasion of the World’s Day Against Human Trafficking, the parliamentarian sent a warning through her Twitter account, where she made clear that Venezuelan migrants are also victims of Nicolás Maduro’s criminal regime.
“Venezuela has become a failed state that does not guarantee human rights while promoting and financing the presence of narco-guerrilla groups, and allows them to exploit the mines and control drug trafficking routes, worsening the problem of human trafficking,” Lozano denounced.
Furthermore, she specified that many Venezuelans who try to escape the regime are kidnapped, extorted, and subjected to prostitution or modern slavery.
“It is urgent to rescue democracy and restore institutions in Venezuela. The solution to all the problems that make up the serious crisis start there,” said the legislator.
For this reason, she insisted that the salvation of Venezuela passes through the holding of elections under fair, free and transparent conditions.
