The Deputy to the legitimate National Assembly, Alfonso Marquina, denounced the serious situation that Venezuelan workers are going through as a result of the extremely low salaries they receive.
“We see faces of anguish from many Venezuelans who have to go to work for starvation wages in the midst of hyperinflation, and the responsibility is of Nicolás Maduro regime,” he said.
The parliamentarian emphasized that Venezuelans would have to earn approximately 880 million bolivars to be able to access the basic monthly (food) basket, as opposed to the less than two dollars they earn, which has driven thousands of Venezuelan families into poverty.
“How is it possible that Maduro paid $ 60,000 to bring a singer for his birthday, but a Venezuelan must work 53 days to be able to access a kilo of meat or what is worse, 26 days of work to access a kilo of chicken?” He questioned.
Marquina reiterated that from the National Assembly and the streets of the country they will continue to denounce the serious crisis that the country is going through and defend the rights of Venezuelan workers.
