The deputy to the National Assembly for the Un Nuevo Tiempo party, Carlos Valero, said Monday that the Parliament is working to return to the country a full democracy with a healthy, free and solid economy.
“Without full democracy, there will never be enough food, gas, gasoline in this country, without respect to the division of powers we will not be able to generate a scheme in which the 4.5 million Venezuelans who have left will return”, he said.
The parliamentarian stressed that despite the difficulties they have not stopped legislating “we have passed the laws and they are in a legislative bank, that is, they are not sent to promulgation so that the terrible game where part of the country tries cancel the other part. From the moment we convened in the National Assembly they said they were going to kill us.”
“We have attended to the humanitarian crisis from day one, it is humiliating that in a country with the greatest wealth of oil and gas, we have people traveling in kennels or walking miles to their workplaces”, said Valero.
Also, the deputy for Un Nuevo Tiempo said that the opposition has been looking for a political, peaceful and constitutional solution to the crisis, so he said that “the one who led the country to sanctions is called Nicolás Maduro.”
“These gentlemen who are still in Miraflores today have taken the country to a terrible extreme and the international community has reacted. The consequences of course are terrible for the population, but we have insisted that massive humanitarian aid should be allowed to come in here”, he said.
The parliamentarian affirmed that Maduro and his combo “do absolutely nothing so that the sanctions are lifted. they do not give back rights, they do not respect dialogue (…) we must promote a political solution, nobody wants war here”.
