The lawyer of the deputy to the National Assembly Antonio Geara, Simón Andarcia Febres, said that he will request a humanitarian measure for his defendant after being diagnosed with a lung infection with possible COVID-19 pneumonia.
“As a human rights defender and private attorney for Deputy Antonio Geara, it is my duty to inform that the deputy has received the diagnosis of possible lung infection by COVID-19 and requested a humanitarian measure,” Andarcia said in a message released through his Twitter account.
Similarly, the lawyer reiterated that on several occasions he has requested the right to health of the parliamentarian because he had been operated on his knee, suffered from heart problems and suffers from high blood pressure.
Geara, who is also the regional coordinator of Voluntad Popular party in Bolivar State, was detained by officials of the Bolivarian Service of National Intelligence of Venezuela (Sebin), last March 15th, under false allegations of Maduro’s dictatorship.
