National Assembly deputy Rafael Ramírez announced that he successfully got through COVID-19, while describing the drama that infected Venezuelans have to suffer, as they have to hide their illness for fear of being transferred to concentration camps improvised by Maduro’s regime.

“Without a show or imaginary epic battles, I have successfully overcome the COVID-19 as many Venezuelans are doing on a daily basis,” the deputy announced in a message posted on Twitter.

However, the parliamentarian revealed that “in Venezuela there are two ways of suffering from the virus as a ‘plugged in’ (well connected) and scorpions do and how the rest of us Venezuelans do it”.

“We Venezuelans start on this virus without knowing if we really have it, guided only by the symptoms, because unlike the ‘plugged-in’ and scorpions, we don’t get tested in the comfort of our homes,” he said.

In this sense, Ramirez added that “the connected people “inform” in their RRSS that they have the virus and isolate themselves in their homes or clinics, the rest of us Venezuelans do not tell anyone because despite being mild or asymptomatic we run the risk that they want to take us to poorly equipped hospitals or makeshift shelters.”

“When the ‘enchufado’ tests positive immediately his family will be tested, our family, will only know if they are infected when they shows any symptoms because there is nowhere to test without the persecutory fear that they might be taken to a ‘Sentinel’ Hospital or makeshift shelter,” he remarked.

While on treatment, the parliamentarian compared that “for an ‘enchufado’ or scorpion the cost of treatment is not a problem, for the rest of the Venezuelans it implies dividing the budget between treatment and food, and in some cases deciding between one or the other.

“In the case of a scorpion or an ‘enchufado’, they go to a clinic, never to a “Hospital Centinela”, the rest of us Venezuelans are panicked when we know that we don’t have insurance or money for a clinic, and that we can end up dying alone in a hospital without the necessary supplies,” he revealed.

Finally, Congressman Ramírez sent his best wishes to the Venezuelans who still suffer from COVID-19, and announced that he will return to his fight in the streets. “We return to the communities to continue supporting those who need it most.”
