Deputy Ezequiel Pérez Roa denounced that chronic child malnutrition is increasing alarmingly in several states of Venezuela, due to the humanitarian crisis caused by the regime.
In addition, he indicated that infant mortality is also on the rise. The majority of deaths of minors in public hospitals derive from the progressive deterioration of nutritional status and the collapse of the standard of living in Venezuela.
The parliamentarian warned that “due to the laziness, shortage of vaccines and lack of public attention long eradicated diseases are making a comeback such as measles, malaria, polio and diphtheria.” However, he said their reappearance was caused by the collapse of the health system and the intentional negligence of the dictatorship of Nicolás Maduro.
In this regard, he stressed the importance of the entry of humanitarian aid to prevent children from dying due to lack of food in the country.
“Following this catastrophic situation that has caused invaluable human losses. All the people of Venezuela must remain united so that we have a happy future, where we can live in full freedom with the guarantee of our fundamental rights such as food, education, work, access to health and medical care, among others; without being subjected to blackmail and persecutions of a political nature that prevents the free enjoyment of our rights”, he said.
