The second vice president of the National Assembly, Carlos Berrizbeitia, ruled out that the Legitimate Government of Venezuela will meet with the commission from the Kingdom of Norway that will arrive in Venezuela in the next few hours.
“We appreciate the concern of the Kingdom of Norway in view of the dramatic institutional situation the country is experiencing. We are grateful for the support given to Juan Guaidó as president of the National Assembly and the Parliament, but the Oslo-Barbados chapter has been completed and closed some time ago,” stated the second vice-president of the NA in an interview with CCN.
Congressman Berrizbeitia stressed that “we will not participate in any meeting that has to do with the possibility of a dialogue with a regime that just a few days ago militarily took over the National Assembly and ran over the congressmen in an assault that everyone saw.”
“It will not be received by President Guaidó, nor by the board of directors of the National Assembly, nor by any democratic sector of the country,” he said.
Congressman Carlos Berrizbeitia announced that the Legitimate Government will continue to resist and fight against the dictatorship.
“Nobody here gives up. The mistake made by the regime of militarily assaulting the National Assembly is the biggest mistake they have made in the possibility of a peaceful democratic solution in the country,” he said.
“Next Tuesday we are going to the Federal Legislative Palace, we are deputies, we have elected a Board of Directors and we will go every time the secretariat calls to the Palace.”
“We have no tanks, we have no weapons, and we have no anti-riot equipment. What we have is the truth which gives us the democratic support to continue working and resisting to try to solve this serious economic, political and social crisis of the country,” he concluded.
