The first vice-president of the National Assembly, Juan Pablo Guanipa, called all the manoeuvres carried out by Maduro’s dictatorship to overthrow the National Assembly during the past year a “failed transaction”.
“The dictatorship resorted to extortion to threaten deputies, but in spite of that, they did not achieve the majority they sought. Only 10 deputies sold out to the regime, who bought them with dollars. That is sad,” Guanipa said during a press conference with the media.
The parliamentarian said that by acting in this way Maduro’s regime “only managed to lose the support of Argentina, Mexico and the Spanish Workers’ Party”.
“They lost everything. How clumsy you are Nicolas Maduro, how clumsy you are Diosdado Cabello” he remarked.
He also pointed out that Russia was involved in the attempt to destabilize the National Assembly on January 5th.
“China, Cuba, Iran and Russia are not democratic countries. Those are the regime’s allies,” he added.
CALL FOR PROTEST
The deputy for Primero Justicia summoned the citizens of Caracas to participate this Saturday, January 11th, in a Great Open Cabildo (council) in El Paraíso, to intensify the pressure and achieve that the country, through free, transparent and fair presidential elections, can determine its future.
“2020 is a fundamental year to achieve change in today’s Venezuela. All the deputies will be with the country and with activities to inform and be informed,” he said.
