This Tuesday, August 31st, the Legislative Delegate Commission chaired by Juan Guaidó, endorsed the approval of the “Draft Agreement of the Declaration of responsibility of Nicolás Maduro Moros for the breach of global commitments for the mitigation and adaptation to climate change, which has led to great tragedies in Venezuela.”
The Deputy of the Venezuelan Parliament, Romel Guzamana, reiterated that the irresponsibility of the dictatorship regarding environmental impact in Venezuela has led the country to serious tragedies.
“When we talk about climate change we are talking about the Human Rights of each of the nations, of each of the democracies in any country that protects or encourages the protection of these phenomena,” he said.
Deputy Guzamana denounced that in Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro’s regime has diverted world programs to counter the phenomenon of climate change.
“From the Legitimate National Assembly we denounce that the climate system has gone unprotected,” he warned.
The parliamentarian demanded that international organizations come to Venezuela to verify the reality that the country is going through.
“Our ‘vegetable lung’ is already a cancer that is eating everything in its path and there is no remedy to cure it. We ask international organizations to come to the country to carry out the procedures for the recovery of our ecosystems.”
The Parliament approved a decree of state of alarm in Mérida State, with the aim of managing humanitarian aid for the population, mainly those living in the Mocotíes valley, seriously affected by the heavy rains and the negligence of Nicolás Maduro’s regime in environmental matters.
