The National Assembly will present this Friday the actions to follow, after considering the initial report of the Joint Commission for COVID-19 during last Tuesday’s ordinary session.
This report includes initial projections and the measures to be taken urgently in the country, which will be presented to the country on Friday.
Among the measures proposed are the provision of specific personal protection equipment and alcoholic gel for 100% of health facilities with a policy of hand washing education.
Similarly, the document establishes the re-engineering of health personnel for acute care and basic triage with simple protocols, as well as increasing the capacity of mechanical ventilation by 10 times the current capacity and the rescue of spaces and anesthesia units.
The measures also provide for the establishment of a respiratory safety corridor for all hospitals in the country, as well as the establishment of external fever clinics for outpatient management.
The report calls for a campaign to recruit health personnel (return of emigrants), using international humanitarian teams for high specialization. Establish an efficient telephone triage format and the creation of a social plan to support vulnerable groups in areas of high population density.
All these preliminary measures will be reviewed and developed by experts in the field and will be proposed in the final evaluation.
