The secretary of the Venezuelan Parliament, Angel Palmieri, denounced the ambush and attack suffered by deputies of the National Assembly after these paramilitary groups of the dictatorship, that were in the vicinity of the Federal Legislative Palace, attacked them.
“They attacked us and the media that were close to us,” Palmieri told the media.
Similarly, the representative of the National Assembly stated that “what happened was coordinated between the paramilitary groups and those who were supposed to guarantee our security.”
“It already seemed strange to us that they let us pass. We saw that when they allowed us to pass, the troops received instructions,” he said.
Finally, the secretary of the National Assembly said that “the regime does not believe in the institutions and that its only way of expression is through armed groups.”
