The Legitimate National Assembly today asked the international community to unify efforts to combat terrorism hatched by transnational criminal organizations that operate with impunity within Venezuelan territory, under the protection and complicity of Nicolás Maduro.
In view of the proven presence of dissident FARC and members of the ELN guerrillas, accused of being responsible for the death of Venezuelan soldiers, and how they generate oppression, fear and death throughout the border states, are guilty of looting natural resources and proliferating the illicit traffick of drugs, fuel, arms and ammunition, gold, coltan, human trafficking and the recruitment of minors to serve these transnational mafias.
All this was denounced by the deputies Gaby Arellano, Franco Castella and Eliecer Sirit during the ordinary Session of the Delegate Commission, who alerted the international community that the four leaders of the FARC dissidents: El Paisa, Jesús Santrich, Romaña and Iván Márquez are in Venezuela and continue to commit this illegal activities with the blessing of Nicolás Maduro.
According to Castella, vice president of the Permanent Commission on Security and Defense, these armed groups are in the country “to promote the continental project that enjoys the endorsement of the Sao Paulo Forum” and noted that there are Venezuelan military prisoners who are being tortured in the Dgcim and Sebin cells, for denouncing the abuse, control, interference and violation of territorial sovereignty by the FARC and ELN.
Evidence delivered to Colombian and US intelligence agencies
Meanwhile, his parliamentary colleague Gaby Arellano, president of the Border Affairs Subcommittee, revealed that they have provided evidence of the presence of Jesús Santrich and Iván Marquez in Venezuelan territory to the intelligence agencies of Colombia and the United States and pointed out that Santrich and Márquez “are not seen as guerrillas by the regime, but rather, they are a few more ministers of Nicolás Maduro’s cabinet.”
He warned that “keeping the border crossings closed is part of a strategy by Nicolás Maduro to hand over sovereignty to the FARC and ELN”, which are the armed organizations participating in the support of the dictatorship and recalled that “the FARC taking over the Venezuelan territory has been moving since 2016 when they signed the Havana Agreement.”
Arellano, asserted that the Organic Law of Borders that the regime intended to impose in December 2015, before the swearing in of this legitimate Parliament, “strips powers and functions from the governors and mayors and grants control of these powers in the border municipalities to the military.”
“Those who usurp power in Venezuela are not politicians, it is a narco state, an outlaw state, a system that intends to exploit our natural resources to hand them over to these transnational criminal corporations. Nicolás Maduro is a threat to the security and development and progress of the entire continent,’ she remarked.
Meanwhile, Deputy Eliecer Sirit, president of the Permanent Security and Defense Commission, urged the ‘institutionalist’ military to side with the Constitution and assert their oath in defense and protection of the citizens and national sovereignty to prevent more deaths of soldiers and abuses against the military institution from happening.
Finally, the president in charge and of the National Assembly, Juan Guaidó called on the Armed Forces make a declaration on the murders of Venezuelan military at the hands of guerrilla insurgents and narco-terrorists in Venezuela financed by the drug trafficking that Nicolás Maduro protects, and called on the military officials to exercise sovereignty and ensure respect for the national territory.
